Misc...

Okay... I'm ready to start blogging again. Sorry for the break, but I needed to focus on other things for a while.

So, the world according to Eva... This morning she informed me that boys are suppose to go through doors before girls, but that girls are suppose to lead when you dance.

About a week ago, she had a conversation with Granny that went somethign like this. "Look Granny, this is Abraham." (pointing at a picture of Abraham) "Yes it is, Eva. Do you know where Abraham lived?" to which Eva said that she didn't. So Granny asked her, "Who was Abraham's wife?" Eva didn't know again and told Granny so, but obviously didn't like the inquisition, because she lifted her chin and looked back at Granny and asked, "Who is Sarah's mom and dad?" Granny told Eva that she didn't know. Eva responded with a triumphal, gloating tone, "See... you don't know either." Apparantly she didn't want to be the only one who didn't know stuff.

Some changes since we got back from vacation. Eva's started going to Sunday school with the other kids instead of insisting that she stay with David and I. She's become a little leader at daycare, and is very good at telling the other kids what they should be doing, etc. She still thinks she's a boy (okay, that's not a change) and she is still challenging me on a regular basis (that's not really a change, either).

We've been celebrating birthdays this week at our house. Granny's was first, and Eva got her a rock and a stick for her birthday. She picked them out herself and wrapped them up. Then she showed Granny how she was supposed to used them (slide the stick on the rock, not hit it) to make music. She also picked out a helium filled "Kung Fu Panda" balloon for Granny. But, I don't think Granny has yet to actually hold or see it. Eva pretty much decided that Granny would rather she play with it for her, instead of playing with it herself.

Granny has been playing games on the Wii with Eva, and she's getting better at them. She also has let Eva play on her old Nintendo system. Do you all remember the Duck hunt game? Eva does pretty good at it... she can shoot at least 8 of the 10 ducks in the first level. It's very cute watching her play it. Only this morning, she got up at about 5:00 a.m. so that she could go down and wake Granny up to let her play a game. Ahh... the trials (and blessings) of being a live-in Granny.
