I wouldn't be disapointed in you.

I was painting on my family room today. I had my paint brush laying over the top of the paint can and I told Eva to leave it alone. She is only three, and the temptation was too great. She picked up the brush and exclaiming, "Sandra says to put the brush in the paint!" promptly dumped it into the can where it sank down beneath the paint surface and covered the handle. I dug out the brush and lectured her all the way to the sink about how disappointed I was because of her behavior and that now I have to wash the brush. She listened to me for about 3 minutes before she'd had enough. She then put her hands on her hips and looked me in the eye, and told me: "If I was mommy and you were Eva, I wouldn't be disapointed in you." So much for my lecture.

Pictures from Christmas day

Kung Fu Rocker Chick

Eva's favorite movie is Kung Fu Panda. She has the entire movie memorized, and delights in acting out the Kung Fu moves. She can't wait until she's four so that she can learn Kung fu.

She also wants to play the guitar... very much in love with guitars.

Eva was doing Kung Fu with the chop-sticks in the living room... trying to get a "pretend" dumpling, just like Po.

Getting more recent

Eva cut the wirebrush cleaner up herself, and then formed them into the letters. When she showed it to me, I had to take a picture...it's the first time I've seen her put all three letters in the correct order.

Pictures from December

David and Eva spent some time playing in the snow and making snow angels... I was stuck inside grading papers (end of the semester).

Pictures from Fall, part 5

This is Eva's superhero costume. Apparantly the cape gives her the ability to fly... well, to at least run really fast up and down the hall.

Pictures from Fall, part 4

This is the costume (Tow Mater from Cars) that Eva selected this year. She wore it to Hallelujah night.

There really aren't a lot of things better than splashing in mudpuddles wearing rubber boots.

Pictures from Fall, part 3

I know this dress is too big for Eva, but it's the only one we could get her to wear. Because it is blue, she reasoned that it is a "boy dress" so she could wear it. She added the blue eye shadow all herself.

Pictures from Fall, part 2

Eva and I spent the morning watching this deer in our front yard eating the crab apples, and thinking of Grandpa Kizer. He gave us that crab apple tree.

This is what Eva did in the car on the drive to Fargo to get David from the airport when he returned from His father's funeral.

Pictures from Fall, part 1

Eva cooked her own hot dog on the stove (using a very big frying pan) and every utensil she could find.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas
I listened into a conversation the other day between Eva and David. He was telling her how when his hair and beard turns white he's going to look like Santa Claus...they were watching one of the Christmas movies playing incessantly this past week. It was an interesting conversation considering that David and I have not taught Eva about Santa Claus. It seems Pop Culture has done the job for us. In any case, after having this conversation wherein David tells Eva he will look like Santa after his hair goes white, Eva runs upstairs yelling "Mommy, mommy!" I respond, and she excitedly exclaims "Mommy. When Ba Ba's hair turns white, he is going to turn into Santa Claus... then I get lots of toys."
I finally have downloaded my pictures to the computer (My sony software doesn't work anymore with my updated Windows...I am somewhat frustrated with Sony. In any case, I can't put any pictures on the computer anymore until my disc is full, and I've been taking fewer pictures lately so it's taken a while to fill the disc.) so I will post them now. I understand that some are a few months old, but still they're cute to look at.

shoping queen

When Eva rides the cart through the store, she does the "Beauty Pagent" wave at everyone she sees. It is very cute, although she looks like anything BUT a girly pagent contestant.
