Eva has definitely latched on to a few concepts and she thinks about them constantly. One is birthdays. Her birthday is coming up next week, and in the last few weeks she has celebrated two birthday parties at daycare. She knows all about birthdays and she really really likes them. Everything in the house is associated with birthdays. The mixer in the kitchen, "Mommy make Happy Birthday cake." The balloons are "Happy birthday balloons." I got some sunglasses party favors for her birthday party and every morning the first thing Eva says is "Happy birthday glasses." She is obssessed about the birthday glasses.
Another thing that is always on Eva's mind are the chickens. She wants to go and feed the chickens, let the chickens out and pet the chickens. I actually do have a couple of Brahma hens that will let her pet them. Then, when we're outside with the chickens, Eva wants to swing. Yesterday, Granny watched Eva. She took her wheelchair out to the swing and sat in it and pushed Eva. She got to swing for over an hour until she fell asleep in the swing. Eva will bring us her sweater and tell us that she wants to swing all the time. So, those three things occupy a majority of Eva's thought processes... birthdays, chickens and swings.
