Day one of our trip to Seattle

Eva and Brandy had a great time at the zoo. Their favorite part was feeding the deer.

Yes, this is how crowded the back seat is.

elopment

I haven't blogged about this, because this blog is in my mind about Eva... not me. But, David and I did separate last September. We got divorced in February. I have remarried... eloped in the beginning of May. See... very busy. Here are some pics from my wedding, which was by the way, a completely blessed day.

Eva is adjusting well to the changes. At first, it was very difficult... no question about it, she regressed on her attachment issues. She got very distressed every time she was away from me. So, I ended up pulling her out of pre-school and daycare. She stayed home with Granny, which didn't stress her because she was confident that I was going to come back home. She started smiling again, and laughing again, and relaxing. Since then, her adjustment to the changes has been incredible and now, she will tell you she has a daddy (who she calls BaBa) and also Daddy #2 (who she calls Brett). She loves the time she spends with Baba, and she also loves her new sister Brandy (11 yrs old). Adores Brandy... follows her around everywhere. Only, now I have the whole new set of challenges surrounding turning two only children into siblings. Sigh

Dim sum for Eva's birthday (old post)

Eva turned 5 this year (old post)

Eva invited Brandy to go with her to the water park for her fifth birthday this year. She loved it a lot!!! Spent hours floating around in circles... would not go down any slide, not even the baby ones by herself. But is convinced she had the time of her life. Granny gave her an mp3 player and David and I bought her a big girl bike. Brandy and Brett gave her Pet Shop stuff. It was not the most presents she ever got, but she liked every single thing. David, Granny and I also took her up to China town in Winnepeg for a Dim Sum lunch.

Kathy's wedding trip

I have been busier this winter than ever in my life... so, I have some pictures to post, and will get around to putting them up within the next few weeks. In the meantime, I am going to post the pictures and story of our trip to Seattle for Kathy's wedding.

We left at 5:00 a.m., this morning. Got to Bismarck, ND at 10:00 a.m. and went to the zoo. It was a perfect day. Warm, but not hot. The zoo was beautiful and Eva and Brandy had a blast feeding the deer. We spent 3 hours at the zoo, and then started driving again. We got to Billings, MT at 6:30 (our time). After eating pizza, the girls went swimming in the water playland. Then fell right to sleep. It was incredibly cute watching them walk down the hall all decked out in flippers, goggles and snorkle.

Both Eva and Brandy did very well today in the car... minimum fighting. They have luggage stacked between them and Eva spent the day asking Brandy questions through the wall. Both listened (and sang outloud) to music, and built forts with their blankets and pillows. They colored, watched a movie (Eva fell asleep during) and argued over who the pet shop deer belonged to. They did great :)

Eva's new puppy

Ten puppies were found along the road locally and taken to the Humane society. Granny saw a picture of one of them, with their story, in the newspaper and showed it to Eva. Eva carried around the picture for two days, along with “Mommy…. this puppy need me. I need this puppy, mommy.” Like any mom would, we took a trip to the humane society. They had 3 left. So, now Eva has a new puppy. She named him “Spike.” They think he’s a cross between a lab and a collie and about 4 months old.

We get into the car with the puppy. Eva looks at the puppy, then the newspaper, then the puppy and declares, “Yep. That’s the one.” She asks Granny constantly, “The puppy say ‘Arf’ What does that mean, Granny?” And this morning, she told me that her kitten (Sea Fu) was the puppy’s girlfriend. I wonder what Sea fu has to say about that.

Eva took these pics with her camera

The cat is her kitten, "Sea Fu"

Dim Sum--Chinatown; Winnepeg

Yes... this is my idea of a really good time. I love dishes!

Eva was very bossy on her trip today. We asked her if she was a back seat driver. She responded, "Yes, cause I'm sitting behind mommy. Granny and baba can't drive back seat, they don't have a stirring wheel on their side." Apparantly it's a badge of honor...

Loved spending the day with Eva, what a funny young lady she has turned into.
