Cousins--4

They had this whole food themed play going on. They were pretending to cook "steaks" on the grill using large pieces of wood chunks. Then, they used the same large pieces of wood chunks (Dad has lots of them) as plates. Here you see Eva manning the "Plate station." She jumped around and told everyone, "Get your plates here!" The rest of them made salad out of the weeds and garden in Grandpa's back yard. I guess the salad was to go with the grilled "steaks." It was fun watching them play, and to see how quickly they were comfortable both with Dad's house and with each other. There's something about family, whether it be of the heart or biological, that no one else can fulfill.

Kori, Jeff and the kids came up to visit Dad also while we were there. I have lots of pictures of the cousins with Eva, who absolutely loved playing with them especially Rachel and Richie.

ages: Eva (4), Rachel (5), Richie (6), Kenny (7), Kevin (8). I think I got those right... I might be off a little.

At Grandpa's house--2

This is the tiny minnow-fish that Grandpa and Eva caught. It came out to be about a Tbsp of meat on it.

Complaining about NOT wanting to get near the worms...

Grandpa had lots of berries (raspberries, boysenberries and strawberries) in his back yard. Eva sampled many.

At Grandpa's house--1

This little gray and white kitten is the one that Eva adopted when we were at Grandpa's house. We brought it home with us, but it was really sick and sadly ended up dying. Thus we had to make a quick trip to the humane society and adopt another one. The new one is doing fine. Her name is Sea Fu (Eva named her after Master SeaFu from Kung Fu panda). I'll post some pictures of her also forthcoming. It was sad about this little kitten who was adorable.

Eva and I spent quite a bit of time watching Grandpa work in his shop. Eva was frightened of the noisy equipment like the one sander, but she was fascinated with all the things to look at, especially the scrap wood pieces on the floor. She could have played with those all day if we allowed her to play with them.

(This is what she did when the sander was running)
